Amateur Musical Theater Company

CALLBACK Produções (@callback.producoes) in partnership with EDSAE, present a MUSICAL THEATER COMPANY project, which aims to bring more visibility to all aspiring and students of Musical Theater in Portugal.

The Artistic Direction is the responsibility of JP Costa and Sara Teixeira, both teachers at EDSAE and Musical Theater performers in Portugal. They are also responsible for the production and organization of the different musicals on stage.


WHO IT'S INTENDED FOR 

  • Minimum age of 15 years; Previous training in Musical Theater (as it is a company, the technical component is applied and not taught in isolation); 

  • Internal Musical Theater and Dance students at EDSAE; 

  • Students and aspirants external to EDSAE;* 

  • People invited by the Artistic Team. 

* Although not a mandatory condition, priority may be given to participants who demonstrate interest in enrolling in EDSAE modalities (e.g. Solo Singing Classes, Acting Through Song or Jazz classes).

SHOWS 

  • Fame (23 and 24 March 2024), in agreement with MTI; 

  • The Drowsy Chaperone (September 2024), in agreement with MTI.



COMPANY OBJECTIVES 

  • Give all participants the opportunity to step on stage more regularly; 

  • Explore and work on Musical Theater pieces that challenge participants in the different aspects of Musical Theatre; 

  • Develop more technical and artistic skills in participants; 

  • Allow community growth, through contact with colleagues from other artistic schools, with different experiences and training.

ACCESS CONDITIONS 

  • Entry to the Company is always done by audition, when a new project is announced (see CALLBACK Produções Instagram); 

  • Registration costs €50 (Personal Accident Insurance and CALLBACK Produções T-shirt) and during the rehearsal process, participants are encouraged to participate in raffle sales to raise funds for production costs.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULES

  • Mondays, 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm;

  • Fridays, 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm (may not be full time);

  • Sundays by arrangement (only if really necessary).

    • AUDITIONS

    The material to be presented at the auditions for the different musicals is made available when the audition day is published. This may differ depending on the type of characters sought, their specificities and/or what the musical itself is looking for.

    TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT

    • All participants will use microphones provided by EDSAE;

    • The sets and some of the costumes will be handled by EDSAE and CALLBACK;

    • Some costumes may be requested from participants.

    REGULATIONS

    1. All participants must be regular and punctual at the times set for rehearsals and presentations.

    2. All participants must be available to support all initiatives that are necessary in terms of producing the Company's presentations, within their time constraints.

    3. All participants must be available to support the dissemination of the Company's presentations.
