In the 2024-25 academic year, EDSAE offers two professional training courses certified by DGERT. These courses are aimed at people over 16 years of age or for students who are in their 10th year of schooling and who are interested in the artistic area of ​​Musical Theatre.

Previous experience is not required in any of the 3 disciplines: Singing, Dancing and Acting, and candidates must take admission tests to be able to enroll.

Schedules:

  • After Business Hours - 1º and 2º levels (Monday and Wednesday 7:00pm/10:30pm)
  • Saturday – All levels (1:30pm/8:00pm)

Audition Dates 2024/25

  • 1st PHASE OF AUDITIONS: Sunday, June 16th at 10:00 am
  • 2nd PHASE OF AUDITIONS: Sunday, July 21st at 10:00 am
  • 3rd PHASE OF AUDITIONS: Saturday September 7th at 2pm

Places are limited and will be filled from the 1st to the following auditions.

LOCATION - EDSAE - Escola de Dança e Teatro Musical at Amoreiras Plaza in Lisbon.

To register for these auditions you must complete the registration form. If you are admitted to the Audition process, you must be prepared to formalize the payment of the registration fee and fill in the Registration Form ONLINE, in order to guarantee your place on the course. Registration for the course is only confirmed after payment of the registration fee has been received.

PRE - REQUIREMENTS: Candidates can apply for any of the levels of the Training Course depending on their experience in the 3 areas of Musical Theatre. Previous experience is not necessary if applying for the 1 level of the course.


1st Year of the Musical Theatre Training Course:

Aimed at people over 16 and under 30, it does not require any experience in the 3 areas of Musical Theatre. All candidates will audition for: ​​Singing, Dancing and Acting:

  • Theatre - Group Hearing;
  • Dance - Group audition (Bring appropriate clothing, dance shoes or socks);
  • Singing - It is necessary to prepare 1 musical theatre song with musical support, lasting around 1 minute and 30 seconds;

2º and 3º Year of the Musical Theatre Training Course:

Aimed at people over 16 and under 35 with some experience in the 3 areas of Musical Theatre. All candidates will audition in the 3 areas of Musical Theatre:

  • Theatre - Presentation of 1 monologue lasting 2 minutes from a Musical Theatre Piece or an edited Theatre Play.
  • Dance - Group Audition + present 1 choreography of any dance style, preferably Jazz or Contemporary, lasting around 1 minute (bring appropriate clothing and footwear);
  • Singing - it is necessary to have 2 contrasting musical theatre songs prepared with musical support, lasting about 2 minutes each;
