EDSAE presents two Jazz workshops, with Carlos Rodríguez. 

Carlos is a professor at the IAB (Institute of the Arts Barcelona) and with his company, The Hatman Company, he produced LIGHT, The Piano Man and The Queen of Comedy. Inspired by and linked to the style of Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins, Michael Kidd, among others.

Session 1: Fosse Inspired Class

Schedule: 17H30 às 19H30

Content

In this class you will dive deep into Fosse's universe. Work on nuances of style and vocabulary and understand the specificity of this movement. Includes warm-up exercises, technique and choreography.

Session 2: Musical Theater Class

Schedule: 20H00 às 22H00

Content

In this class you will prepare to dance in the Theater Jazz style. You will have time to dance and tell a story through movement and choreography, developing tools that allow you to find the meaning behind the steps. Includes warm-up exercises, technique and choreography.

Clothing requiremets 

Tight black clothing and character shoes (not mandatory)

Biography of Carlos Rodríguez 

Carlos Rodríguez is a dancer, choreographer and teacher in Barcelona, ​​with training in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and urban dances. He studied at renowned schools in several cities, including London and New York. He performed in companies such as Ballet Contemporani de Catalunya and Jazz House Theater and created pieces for the State Ballet of Stara Zagora. Inspired by and linked to the style of Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins, Michael Kidd, among others. 

After these years of experience, Carlos wants to share the importance of artistic development and storytelling with students who are related to the theater industry, finding a balance between technique and movement as a channel of connection with the public and the discovery of the human condition behind of the steps. 

He currently teaches at IAB and with his company, The Hatman Company, he produced LIGHT, The Piano Man and The Queen of Comedy.
